Being a Pakistani, id like to focus on some of the social problems of my society that include poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, population boom, gender discrimination, and many more. Though, I am going to write about very few of the things, that we, as a nation can play our parts. So, lets just not rely on our government and focus what we can add , change and eliminate the ills to make our country a better place to live in!

▪︎Ignorance of Islam: We as Muslims think that by praying, fasting, reciting Quran, following Sunnah, doing some counted good deeds have completed our tasks and have made our homes in Jannah. But it’s not like what we think! ALLAH(S.W.T) has created us for certain purposes, and one of them is to give. The reason we do not know the actual meaning of Islam is most of us do not have the wisdom of Quran exegesis. If some of us would start to understand and try practicing it bit by bit, we can cope up with any problem whether if it’s personal or social.

▪︎Charity: Illiteracy and poverty both goes hand in hand with each other. So if someone with a stable background having knowledge but no time to teach can give charity, they can donate to several organizations who know and have the resources to do so. There are an estimated 25 million children who cannot sit in school because of lack of financial resources. Our youth can start promoting ‘self-dependence with dignity’ by providing needy ones small business setups. Once the person establishes the business well enough to pay off all the costs, they can get back the whole amount on installments and help the next one. And thus, the chain would remain in loop, eliminating the ills while empowering the deserving ones..

▪︎Upgrading own selves: Todays youth is being taught to study as much as they have opportunities, get a job or start a business, settle themselves up, get married, make a family which is great BUT!! they are also being realized to save resources as much as they can for their futures which is totally wrong in my view. We should stop there when we have reached our needs and above that! We should not get lost in own luxuries and should think about those who need us. Either you donate as much as you can or start your own small program to help someone, with your family or friends or with whoever that can help you in this beautiful journey.

▪︎Family issues: The environment in which one grows up influences one’s thinking pattern. If parents get failed to maintain a healthy environment at home, we youngsters won’t be able to open up our minds, our minds will remain stuck to those family problems. What I think actually the main reasons of our country being underdeveloped is the captivated minds of our youth, their minds are not free to observe or think about what ills their society has to face every day, what kinda social problems are going on. If they have given the opportunity to realize their powers, they can bring about any change for the betterment of their society.

▪︎Guidance: Many of us don’t have the resources to sponsor a child’s education by ourselves but there are others who do. Organizations such as TCF, Saylani Welfare, Aman Foundation, and Alamgir Welfare Trust, among many, are giving children a chance to learn, play, and grow. All you have to do is help a deserving gain admission or financial aid.
